Shunned At A Funeral - His Psalm Of Life

Do not tell me life is hollow, though
The earth receives the clay
Christ has walked the road we follow and has rolled the stone away
When our hearts were cold and sleeping, he broke through the sealed of night.
Now the souls his hands are keeping
Wake to walk within his light
Not for crowns of our own making, not for praise that bears our name.
He has called the dead to waken, we have nothing left to claim
Rise and walk, the
Lord is leading
Through the fields of grief and strife.
From the hands once torn and bleeding
Comes the gift of everlasting life.
Not our hands have quit the grave, not our will that made us whole.
Christ alone is strong to save
And his spirit wakes the soul
And his spirit wakes the soul
Days are brief and hours are flying, mortal hearts must cease to beat.
Yet the risen
Lord undying
Leads us where death tastes defeat.
On the path where hearts are breaking, bind the wounds and share the load.
For the love and music that set us waking, walks beside us on the road
Rise and walk, the
Lord is leading
Through the fields of grief and strife.
From the hands once torn and bleeding
Comes the gift of lasting life.
Not our hands that split the grave, not our wisdom made us whole.
Christ alone is strong to save, and
His spirit wakes the soul
If a brother's faith is shaken
By the waves that hide the shore, may find the path we've taken
To the one who walked before.
Not the glory of our labor, not a monument of stone, only mercy for our neighbor, pointing to the
King alone.
We will labor, we will tarry, trust the harvest to
His hands
All the crosses that we carry
And within the promised land
Rise and walk, the
Lord is leading
Through the fields of grief and strife.
From the hands once torn and bleeding
Comes the gift of lasting life.
Not our hands that split the grave, not our wisdom made us whole.
Christ alone is strong to save, and
His spirit wakes the soul
Our salvation lies hollowed though
The earth receives the clay.
Christ has walked the road we follow
Roll the stone away
